I had a VA do my WordPress site optimization. How can I check to confirm that it has been done and done correctly? Thanks! Also, will a recording be available if I miss the live event?
Yes there will be a recording available after the call. To make sure that your optimization was done correctly, there are a few things to check, see that you are using the proper plug ins and they are set up correctly. Make sure that your keywords are being utilized correctly. A lot of this I will be going over on the webinar Thursday so please be there and/or listen to the recording.

Hi Laura, I like the idea of Komposer. Would solve a lot of problems for me. However I have downloaded a zip file which says komposer-0.7.10-win32 I cannot figure out what to do next. When I extract the files, how do I install the software. Nilofer
Hi Nilofer, I just go this, love technology lol. For the kompozer software, you should have a file with the extension .exe this will install the software.
hope this helps, if you still have problems contact me again.

What is the best way to add plug ins that are not listed in the dashboard?
To install plug ins that are not already on your dashboard, you need to first download the plug in. You can find tons of plug ins for any wordpress blog by doing a Google search.
There is a add new within your dashboard under Plug Ins

I have downloaded some things, what is the best way to get them to the dashboard, or can you?

Hi Laura - I'd like to know how best to use Tags vs. Categories. Not sure I understand the difference between these in WordPress. Also, if you can at this point, you might want to change the webinar date on your squeeze page and this "thank you" page. You said Thursday, Feb 25 in your email, which is correct, but on the squeeze page and thank you page, it says, Thursday, Feb 26. (The 26th is Friday. Not a big deal, because I'm pretty sure you meant Thursday, Feb 25, but it could be confusing to some.)
Hi I will be going over this in the webinar on Thursday the difference between the two and when and where to use them. So please sign up for this, there is a lot to cover and I couldn't possibly answer it in detail here.
thank you for pointing this out, I did notice that last night and have been changing things.

I know there is a ton of information out there on blogging, but what is the best book or material to read in your opoinion?
so far the best I have found is Atomic Blogging, and Blogging to the bank
-
Is there some way to find out what people are mainly looking for in connection with my blog niche?
The best way to decide this is to install and monitor both Google Analytics and Wordpress stat plug ins
-
Is it kosher to stray from your blog niche once in a while?
No
-
I would like to add some advertising widgets to make some extra money, Why do you think this is a distraction, if the ads are related to the subject?
It is not a distraction as long as the advertising banners or links are related to your niche. And it will depend on the purpose of your blog and what you want to do with it

Laura - Will you be covering any of the basics of Wordpress Blog setup? Or will the Webinar be strictly optimization? Please advise and thanks!
Hi I have basic information on WordPress setup on this blog. But I will go over some of this. The main topic for the webinar is on how to op;timize your blog, so this is with the understanding that you already have a blog installed and set up.
**FYI there will be some bonuses and a special offer at the end of the teleseminar that will help lots of people. Not sure I will offer this again or to anyone that doesn;'t sign up/come to the webinar :)

I don't fully understand seo and Google analytics. Do people pay attention to this or not?
Yes these are great ways to monitor your traffic and see what people are actually typing into Google Search to find your blog. Monitoring these stats will better help you know what your traffic is looking for...information, products

I want to make sure my blog pages are "printer-friendly". Do you have any tips for that?
There is a plug in that will put a 'print' button on your pages. have you tried this? I have heard it is good and works well, though I myself have never used this. I do not actaully want people download my information, they can steal it.

What is the best way to find information about your niche besides the regular informational avenues like Google, Ask etc. etc.?
This does depend on what type of information you are looking for. If it is your niche you should already know a great deal about it. The places to find more information is where you suggested. You can also go to places like Amazon and forums to see what others are actualy looking for. Take a trip to your local library and/or grocery store and find magazine on the niche, you might be surprised on just what is out there.

Hey Merry xmas & wealthy new year. My Question is.... I have alot of content for my Blog Squeeze pages & sales pages content like that. "But" when I try to use filezilla to tranfer file, its like its grabing files I never ask for and moving a lot of files I don't want moved.and those files go to root directory at Hostgator. "But I Don't know how to get the files from root directory to my blog, By this stage plus I have not editored my content how or where I do that from My dash board or Hostgator,Its important I learn how to do this, I have thousand of dollars worth of marketing content. That I have collected over the the last couple of years and sitting on my harddrive going to waste.
With FileZila remember that things listed on the left hand side is what is on your computer, and things listed on the right hand side is what is on your host. You will need to highlight just left click once what you want to transfer over to your host. On the right hand side make sure that you are under public_html folder. If you are putting content onto your blog, like for example a salespage, you do not upload this to your host, you would go into your dashboard of your blog and then select pages, add new page. There you would write up your salespage and make any changes you need. Then just click publish when you are done.
It will depend of course on what type of content it is you are trying to put up on the blog on how it is done.
